Aside from Coca-Cola and a few beers, it’s still not common to see aluminum bottles in retail shelves. So it was a pleasant surprise to see the Grove 45 aluminum olive oil bottle in the Grand Central Market in New York City.
We won the Gold Medal for Packaging in the Food and Beverage category at the 32nd Annual Package of the Year Awards of the New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) for this particular package. The bottles were stacked near some artisanal cheeses and breads, and elicited second looks from onlookers. I snapped a photo of it.
Most weren’t sure what was inside and were pleasantly surprised to learn that it was olive oil. The old world look of the bottle seems to be quite appealing.
